When all else fails

When I was pregnant with my first child, my father was diagnosed with cancer. Two years later he was much worse and his stomach was swollen due to a sick liver. I was now pregnant with my second child and he joked that now he could relate to pregnant women and our complaints about having a big stomach getting in the way.

My father had a nack for putting a smile on his own face and that of others when times where challenging.
It is not easy, but it changes focus and it both makes difficult times easier to bare and it is easier to move on.
