Which feelings dominate your body and mind when you lay in bed ready to sleep every night?
How are your days? Do you go to bed at night thinking: “Yes, what a terrific day” feeling happy and content with yourself and your achievements or “oh no, yet another day down the drain”, “why do I never manage to get things done” or “if only …. was different, then ….”.
My experiences, supported by research into positive psychology, health amongst employees after restructuring and longevity, across borders and cultures shows, that those of us, who take charge of our own situation and happiness, bounce back fastest and stay healthy and agile to a much higher age, than those to stay trapped in the victim role focusing on all that is wrong.
Have you noticed, either from your own life experiences or from people around you, that it seems that we often have to stare into the abyss before we take charge or shift focus and appreciate all that actually is good in our lives, all our achievements, successes and all the love and friendship? Sometimes, only when we reach a ripe old age.
Life has its ups and downs. But when you seize your day, transformation and joy can begin.
I was fortunate enough to stare into the abyss at a very young age, not much fun at the time, but in hindsight, very lucky.
